UNIFIED MODELLING TECHNIQUE USING VHDL-AMS AND SOFTWARE COMPONENTS

    Get PDF
International audienceThe paper deals with the dynamic modeling of mechatronic devices, which usually need detailed modeling to be described and to take into account the physical properties of the system. VHDL-AMS 1 , which is a powerful unified modeling language for mixed system, allows to describe a large range of physical systems, for their dynamic simulation. It allows to describe models of physical components and then to connect them to obtain the model of a system.. However, this language cannot support the description of some physical phenomena, such local ones, defined by numerical methods (e.g.: finite element method, special numerical integrals). When an aspect of a model cannot be described in VHDL-AMS, the paper proposes to use software components. So, the aim of the paper is to propose a generic way to extend the computation capability of VHDL-AMS, by coupling the models described in VHDL-AMS with external ones specified as software components (where VHDL-AMS fails). The approach has been applied on several applications, among them the time simulation of an electrical plunge

Pick and Freeze estimation of sensitivity index for static and dynamic models with dependent inputs

This article addresses the estimation of the Sobol index for static and dynamic inputs. We study transformations in the input, whose image is an input with independent components. They have the basic property to give the equality of the σ-algebra between a subset of inputs and their image that allows to compute the Pick and Freeze method. We first focus on the static case. The Gaussian and non Gaussian cases are detailed. In the Gaussian case the dependent variables are separated into two groups of independent variables. In the non Gaussian case we apply the conditional quantile function generally used to simulate random vectors. In the dynamic case the definition of the index has been slightly modified in order to take into account the two dimensions of dependence (temporal and spatial). For Gaussian processes the same method as previously is used. For non Gaussian processes, we propose to use a meta-model copula to get back to Gaussian inputs. Different meta-models are studied in order to focus on the limit, in sensitivity studies, of correlations taken as measures of dependence

VHDL-AMS to support DAE-PDE coupling and multilevel modeling

International audienceWith the increasingly high level of electrical system integration, the modeling of both the system behavior, and the detailed physics of its elements becomes necessary. VHDL-AMS language allows to describe a range of physical systems, such as electromagnetic devices, using a unified design approach to simulate a complete system. In the paper, the behavioral modeling of multiple energy domains is achieved using VHDL-AMS. This illustrated how the interactions between domains take place with an electromagnetic actuator. Then, a multi-level hierarchical modeling methodology, using a V-shaped-based design approach, allows functional modeling, structural behavioral modeling and detailed component modeling

Numerical modeling of mechanical contact in deformable NEMS

International audienceThis work focuses on the modeling of mechanical contact applied to Nano-Electro-Mechanical-Systems (NEMS). A magneto-elastic formulation associated to the definition of unilateral contact in static case is presented. This model is discretised by finite element method and a numerical study of a magnetic nano switch is performed

International audienceThis work highlight potential gains linked to the control of HVAC system used in buildings. For this, the modelling of electrical system is realized in order to optimize its behaviour. This study is based on the calculation of losses generated in ventilator motors and variable speed drivers to determine the optimal control mode and to evaluate the energy saving

Couplage d'un modèle thermique issu de COMFIE avec un chauffage régulé électriquement pour une simulation temporelle hybride à pas variable

    No full text
